6th grade Weavings

Focusing on the weaving traditions of cultures around the world along with interlock-weft & plain weave techniques.

7th grade Paper-Mache Sculptures

Sculptures made of paper-mache and various recycled art materials (corks, wooden sticks, plastic bottles, paper towel rolls, ect).

5th grade Art RTI

Vincent van Gogh inspired landscapes, focusing on texture, impressionism and line. BEAUTIFUL JOB!

8th grade Plaster Mask Making

8th graders researched a non-western culture, specifically their mask making and art traditions.  They used this information to inspire their own unique mask design, created with plaster.

Art Club fun!

5th and 6th grade students busy creating paper-mache sculptures in our after school art club!

7th/8th grade Personal Expressive Collages

Multi-media collages, expressing the views, interests and goals of the students.  We also studied the collage work of Hannah Hoch.

6th grade Aztec Masks

Focusing on the Aztec culture, symmetry and balance.

5th grade Cubism, inspired by the art work of Pablo Picasso

CLAY!

All students are currently finishing up clay projects.  Each clay art work was completed in one 40 min. art period-amazing I know! The clay pots were fired to almost 2000 degrees, then they were glazed and fired again. The products are vibrant and unique, enjoy!

*Art Club*

Art Club will start on Tuesday February 4th!
NEWS-Art Club will be split into two sessions of 6 classes each, due to a large number of student participation (55-yay!). I will email parents and send home info. with students this week, letting you know which session your student will be a part of. 
Session 1: 
  Tuesday Feb. 4^th, Feb. 11^th, Feb. 25^th, March 4^th, March 11^th and March 18^th. 
Session 2:
  Tuesday March 25^th, April 1^st, April 8^th, April 15^th, April 29^th and May 6^th.
Teacher: Mrs. Weise
Dates: Tuesdays, from Feb. 4th- May 6th, 2014.
           (art club will not take place over February or April break)
Time: 2:45-3:45pm in the middle school art room
Grades: 5th-8th grade
